Understanding ABA Therapy
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a scientific approach to understanding and enhancing important social behavior in individuals with autism and other developmental conditions.
At Arms Wide Open ABA Therapy, we use various ABA principles to enhance communication, learning and social skills through positive reinforcement. We also tailor our therapy services to your child's goals and needs.
Our approach is designed to help 1- to 12-year-old children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) achieve their fullest potential.
How ABA Therapy Works

Getting to Know Your Child
We start with a conversation to understand your child's skills, interests and challenges. We'll also learn about your goals for ABA behavioral therapy and schedule a comprehensive initial assessment.
Comprehensive Evaluations
We conduct a compOur Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) will evaluate your child's skills based on one-on-one interactions with the child, interviews with you and observations of the child in various settings to determine the best type of care for your child.
We perform standardized assessments to understand the child's play, visual, perceptual, social and other skills. Our professionals also seek to understand the “why” behind your child's challenging behavior through a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA). We'll then build a comprehensive treatment plan based on our findings.

Custom Care for Your Child
Upon insurance authorization, we'll start personalized therapy sessions guided by a behavior technician and BCBA. Our in-home sessions are fun, engaging and occur in a play-based, natural setting. We use different techniques to encourage new skills and boost your child's confidence.
