Aligned Goals ABA Therapy
Every child is unique, and so is every therapy plan at Arms Wide Open ABA. But one thing remains constant across all of our clients: we build our work around clearly defined, family-centered goals that are shared and supported across every environment your child spends time in.
What Does "Goal Alignment" Mean?
Goal alignment means that the targets your child is working on in ABA therapy aren't isolated to the clinic. They're woven into school expectations, home routines, and everyday social situations. When your BCBA, your child's teacher, and your family are all working toward the same outcomes, progress becomes visible — and lasting.
How We Develop Goals With Families
Our goal-setting process is collaborative from the start. When a child begins services at Arms Wide Open ABA, we conduct a comprehensive assessment and then sit down with the family to identify the skills that matter most to them. Goals are written in plain language, regularly reviewed, and always connected to real-life outcomes.
- Goals are based on each child's unique strengths, challenges, and family priorities.
- We use evidence-based assessments to identify skill gaps and target areas.
- Families are active partners — your input shapes every goal we set.
- Progress is tracked and reported regularly so you always know how your child is doing.
Connecting Goals Across Environments
Once goals are set, we don't keep them inside the therapy room. Our BCBAs share individualized strategies with school teams and provide caregiver training so that the same goals are being reinforced at home, at school, and in community settings. This multi-environment approach is what separates good therapy from transformative therapy.
"When a child's entire support team is rowing in the same direction, the results are remarkable. Aligned goals don't just improve outcomes — they give families a shared language and a shared hope."
Celebrating Milestones Together
Progress in ABA therapy isn't always measured in big leaps. Sometimes it's a child making eye contact for the first time, or successfully navigating a transition without distress. We make a point of celebrating every milestone — because every step forward, no matter how small, is a victory worth sharing with the whole team.
